Gaia Sokoli was born in Italy in 1998. She started playing the piano at the age of 8 with Prof. Claudia Boz. At 16, she graduated with full marks under her guidance. Since 2013 she has been studying with Prof. Leonid Margarius at the Accademia Pianistica “Incontri col Maestro” of Imola. Gaia has won first prize in more than 45 piano competitions. For example, in 2009 she obtained the 1st prize at the Concours International “Delbert-Février” de Nice, in 2012 the 2nd prize at the Pozzolino Piano Competition, in 2013 a special award at the Cantù International Competition for piano and orchestra and in 2015, she was a semifinalist at the Krainev Moscow International Competition. She has played with the Orchestre de Cannes e Cote d’Azur, the “Pozzoli” Philharmonic Orchestra and the “Jora” Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacau. She has given recitals in Italy, France, Switzerland, Albania, Romania, and USA, making her Carnegie Hall debut at 13.
