16-year-old Alexandra Rice has been a student of Zena Ilyashov for 10 years. She is a multi-year winner of the MTNA Missouri State Junior Piano Competition. She has also won the St. Louis Area Music Teachers Young Artist competition twice by taking the Gold Medal in both Division I and again two years later in Division II. In 2014, she received an Honorable Mention in the International Institute for Young Musicians International Competition held at the University of Kansas. She has performed in master classes for renowned musicians such as Anton Nell and Christopher O’Riley, and has played solo performances at the famous Sheldon Concert Hall. Alexandra has twice performed live on Kansas Public Radio. Since 2012, she has been a recipient of an annual scholarship from the G. A., Jr. and Kathryn M. Buder Foundation. In her spare time, Alexandra enjoys dancing ballet and spending time with family.
